Wow I havent turned my computer on in 3 days, thats like a two pack a day Newport smoker going cold turkey. Surprisingly i am still alive. i hope you enjoyed your holidays. Aight lets get back to bizyness. Looks like Hip-Hop is going to go back to the early ninties again. When KRS-One was throwing P.M Dawn off stages. I predict like Miss Cleo in the 09 one or two very famous rappers will catch beat downs, mabey even serious injuries, i dont want to predict anyones death but after certain events recently. I know there is money in the streets on a popular rappers head. I hope this wont come to reality but i think someones gonna get arrested from a popular camp. Anyway let the festivities begin. I love Hip Hop, this is so circa Atlanta Jack the Rapper, Snoop vs Luke......
Former super producer J Dilla might not have the star recognition of other producers like Scott Storch, Dre or DJ Premier but he’s still a legend to the industry for his work with Slum Village, A Tribe Called Quest and even Kanye West. In recognition of Dilla’s accomplishments and ultimately his passing due to cardiac arrest, The Toy Watch company has joined up with Burn Rubber Sneaker Boutique for this exclusive J Dilla tribute watch. Only a few of these will be produced and are available via Burn Rubber
I cant wait for this movie to drop even though i know how it ends. Its like when Breaking or Krush Groove came out and you were alive and part of what was being documented on film. Everyone has to respect how dope bigge was, except for a few hating 2pac stans. I always feel like i have been lucky and have been in allot of places at the right time, just for my own personal history, an example is getting to meet Biggie through my friend Yvette(Rainbow) at the Arena at a Jessica party, i remember John Forte opened up (it seemed like he was opening up all over...as whack as he was) only song biggie had was party and bullshit. The party of it self was dope, Wu was in the building, I remember seeing Ol Dirty Bastard in there that night (more on that later,...I remember he was always trying to battle Busta, i witnessed two of those battles classics before SMACK or FIGHT CLUB.)
anyway back to my biggie moment he was on stage the whole BadBoy was in there shout out to SLIM PICKENS. Puffy was on stage everyone wilding, and at the part that biggie says "and a fucking fight broke out" someone in the club starts shooting, it was surreal.....these were the days of the MUSE and the REDZONE so you expected at least one fight and a few women getting it in before the show anyway...so after the shooting they kept performing....I love NY....
It seems that almost every week since I have been single there is a headline on some black internet site that says something like "Russell Simmons is FINALLY Dating a Sista?!?!?!" Surely you have seen these, its a constant in my life. I am of the view as a philanthropist and businessman that all press is good if it can help me as a brand or bring in more money to my five charities-especially in this time of economic crisis when every charity is struggling to keep afloat. However, I do find this blatent racism offensive. Just last week I was out with my friend Veronica Verikova and the next day had to read about "uncle Russell's brand new blonde bust down". She doesn't deserve that, nobody does! And yes, it is offensive. Some people believe that if you date a person from another race you are somehow denying who you are. They believe that dating someone with a different skin color somehow makes you a self-hater, loathing that which makes you yourself. They believe that it's an insult to your parents, ancestors, heritage and community. I find this view much more telling about the people who say this than about those who do find a physical, spiritual, mental and emotional connection with someone who looks different than themselves. Choosing someone who I am physically attracted to and who also inspires, uplifts, educates and keeps me interested is my first priority- not their race. And if these bloggers recall I did marry a woman who was half African American. Furthermore, I have had many high profile relationships with African American women, such as the only serious relationship that I have had since my divorce (who some may already know) with my dear friend yoga teacher/model/philantropist Porschla Coleman.
Elijah Muhammad once said that African Americans were chained for so long that when those chains were released we refused to move. I get where these feelings are coming from but I don't condone them. That kind of collective consciousness by a group promotes negativity in a world that has enough hatred and intolerance - and it saddens me to see these pollutants in my community.
Wow this is scary and cool at the same time. Yeah it can be applied to art but just imagine if, the government uses this a s some sort of lie detector in court. Let alone all of the crazy things you probably think of during the day, but they one day maybe able to rip a criminals mental images of his crime right from his head. But it would be cool if i could project the pornographic thoughts i have all day, it would save me more mney than Gieco. This is just like the movie "Strange Days' with Angela Bassette
Researchers from Japan’s ATR Computational Neuroscience Laboratories have developed new brain analysis technology that can reconstruct the images inside a person’s mind and display them on a computer monitor, it was announced on December 11. According to the researchers, further development of the technology may soon make it possible to view other people’s dreams while they sleep. The scientists were able to reconstruct various images viewed by a person by analyzing changes in their cerebral blood flow. Using a functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) machine, the researchers first mapped the blood flow changes that occurred in the cerebral visual cortex as subjects viewed various images held in front of their eyes. Subjects were shown 400 random 10 x 10 pixel black-and-white images for a period of 12 seconds each. While the fMRI machine monitored the changes in brain activity, a computer crunched the data and learned to associate the various changes in brain activity with the different image designs. Then, when the test subjects were shown a completely new set of images, such as the letters N-E-U-R-O-N, the system was able to reconstruct and display what the test subjects were viewing based solely on their brain activity. For now, the system is only able to reproduce simple black-and-white images. But Dr. Kang Cheng, a researcher from the RIKEN Brain Science Institute, suggests that improving the measurement accuracy will make it possible to reproduce images in color. “These results are a breakthrough in terms of understanding brain activity,” says Dr. Cheng. “In as little as 10 years, advances in this field of research may make it possible to read a person’s thoughts with some degree of accuracy.” The researchers suggest a future version of this technology could be applied in the fields of art and design — particularly if it becomes possible to quickly and accurately access images existing inside an artist’s head. The technology might also lead to new treatments for conditions such as psychiatric disorders involving hallucinations, by providing doctors a direct window into the mind of the patient. ATR chief researcher Yukiyasu Kamitani says, “This technology can also be applied to senses other than vision. In the future, it may also become possible to read feelings and complicated emotional states.”
Welcome folks i hope all is well in your world. Here a little something you may find interesting
If you know hip-hop then you know Mathangi “Maya” Arulpragasam. Ahem…that’s M.I.A. for short, the artist who contributed to recent hip-hop anthems and re-mixes of “Swagger Like Us” and “Paper Planes.” Every one from 50 Cent, Jim Jones, Weezy and Jay-Z have used her tunes recently but it’s nice to see the love she is getting outside of the hip-hop realm.
In the critically acclaimed (and Oscar buzzin’) movie Slumdog Millionaire, M.I.A.’s “Paper Planes” is prominently featured in the film and in the soundtrack as well. Movie was filmed in India and even features the music of a famous Indian rapper by the name of Blaaze.

I recently hung out with Dinco D, so naturally i had to rep for the New school society.
Kanye will soon start releasing pieces from his clothing line Pastelle
Here is a interview he recently did and at the bottom you can read his rebuttle to his comments.
When I listened back to the New Zealand conference I was like whoa this is pretty harsh. Sometimes I speak with no filter. I did not mean to be so harsh on the subject of Christianity being that I was a well known Christian. When I was at my Mom's funeral a fucking stranger came up to me and said, "I hope you've accepted Jesus as your saviour so you can see your Mother again!" My entire life, being an african american, Christianity was forced down my throat. Since I was a child, I would ask questions like, "so are little babies that can't speak yet going to hell also?" I one thousand percent believe in God, I believe in Karma, I believe in being a good person. I'm not trying to tell people what they should believe or not believe. To each is his own. I was in situations where someone constantly used Jesus to show me how baaaad a person I was or how not perfect or not Christ like I was. When I say I don't want to be Christ like I'm saying I'm fine with not being perfect. I'm fine with being a human being. I'm happy with just that. 12.01.2008
“The exclusive Moon Dust DNA timepiece has been built by Swiss watchmakers to mark the 40th anniversary of the 1969 moon landings. A limited number of 1,969 of the concept watches have been made to commemorate the year Neil Armstrong first stepped on to the moon.
The case of the watch is made with steel melted with fragments of the Apollo 11 the first manned space mission to land on the moon, the strap made from fibres from a spacesuit worn on the International Space Station, And the face has been coated in dust from rocks taken from the surface of the moon.”
