On a sadder note......

Mobb Deep rapper and G-Unit affiliate Prodigy is suing Vox Music Group for allegedly failing to pay him more than $30,000 and plunging his family into foreclosure.

Prodigy says Vox Music Group agreed in August 2007 to pay him $10,300 a month but that it has missed three payments and failed to give him a semiannual royalty accounting statement.

"These breaches . . . have put Prodigy's family in financial peril," say documents filed last week in Manhattan Supreme Court.

Prodigy, who suffers from sickle-cell anemia and is serving a 3½-year term for gun possession, is also asking that the agreement be terminated.

XXL Magazine now confirms that the mini-movie will actually be up to 10-15 minutes long and is not a music video to “See You In My Nightmares”…rather the song will be featured in the movie.

Kanye West x Spike Jonze. Kanye has just hired film director Spike Jonze, director of the upcoming movie Where The Wild Things Are, to film a mini-movie for his next single “See You In My Nightmares.” Jonze has a good relationship with Kanye having filmed the video to “Flashing Lights” and past videos from Notorious B.I.G. to Weezer.

Jonze and Mr. West are currently developing concepts for the “See You In My Nightmares” mini-movie where they both hope to generate the same buzz that the “Flashing Lights” did. Nowadays, with record label budget cuts galore, only a handful of artists in the industry can afford to make big-budget videos. The days of Bad Boy multi-million dollar video budgets are over but you can be assured Kanye will spare no expense for this one.

MEXICO CITY – Mexico's government on Monday offered $2 million each for information leading to the arrest of 24 top drug lords in a public challenge to the cartels' violent grip on the country.
The list indicated that drug gangs have splintered into six main cartels under pressure from the U.S. and Mexican governments. The two most powerful gangs — the Pacific and Gulf cartels — each suffered fractures that have given rise to new cartels, according to the list published by the Attorney General's Office.
The list offers 30 million pesos ($2 million) in rewards for 24 top members of the cartels and 15 million pesos ($1 million) for 13 of their lieutenants.

Mexico's drug violence has killed more than 9,000 people since President Felipe Calderon took office in December 2006 as gangs battle each other for territory and fight off a government crackdown. Some of that violence is spilling over into the United States, especially the Southwest, where kidnaps and killings are on the rise.
The rewards are the largest Mexico has ever offered for top drug lords, said Ricardo Najera, a spokesman for the Attorney General's office. Some of the men, such as suspected Pacific cartel leaders Joaquin Guzman and Ismael Zambada, are targeted by separate $5 million reward offers from the U.S. government.

I guess he paved the way for Hip-hop cats in more ways than one. Now it’s normal to see Pharrel, Kanye, Jay-z in high end Luxury ads.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – Virtually all cases of the most common strain of flu circulating in the United States now resist the main drug used to treat it, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported on Monday.
CDC researchers said 98 percent of all flu samples from the H1N1 strain were resistant to Roche AG's Tamiflu, a pill that can both treat flu and prevent infection. Four patients infected with the resistant strain have died, including two children.
This year, H1N1 is the most common strain of flu in the United States, although the flu season is a mild one so far, and still below the levels considered an epidemic.
Few doctors even test patients for flu, and Tamiflu is not widely prescribed. But the news is sobering because the pill, known generically as oseltamivir, is one of the few weapons against influenza, which kills an estimated 36,000 people in the United States in an average year.
It is also considered a key weapon against a potential pandemic of a new type of influenza, and this study suggests the virus can rapidly evade its effects.
This season, nine children have died from influenza, most apparently healthy before they died of flu, the CDC reports.
